Commanding a strong local and global presence, Robert Pong has demonstrated his ability to create and develop new markets, offer stellar client service and act as a liaison between the United States and Asia in numerous capacities. Born and raised in mainland China, Robert moved to the United States in the early 1980s, earning dual degrees in Economics and International Finance from the University of Miami.
Prior to entering real estate in 1997, Robert honed his business and finance skills, working with Expeditors International, a world-renowned Seattle based global logistics company, where he advanced through a variety of departments before taking a management position with Industrial Distribution Group/IDG, a publicly traded corporation. At IDG Robert polished his strong leadership skills, successfully running the company's Asia division while working to develop and grow their potential within the China market. Later Robert started and operated two international trade companies, exporting Washington Wines into China and importing building materials from China. Robert also invested in a high-end Western style restaurant in Chongqing (Seattle's sister city) where he met many influential friends who later traveled or moved to the Seattle area. Robert was also one of the original founding members of the Washington State China Chamber of Commerce, where he served as the Vice President. Other board members included prominent local and international business professionals and government leaders.
Robert brings this international foundation to his nearly 20 years of successful work in all aspects of the real estate industry. His active involvement and awareness of current market trends paired with his tenacious negotiation skills and passion for helping people, allow Robert to consistently garner the results his clientele seek. Robert's commitment to excellence is further demonstrated by his discernment, dedication and a five-star agent rating from Seattle Magazine. He aligned with Realogics Sotheby's International Realty to further develop the firm's Asia desk and to assist migrating Chinese nationals with their US investments. Robert specializes in select residential and investment/commercial properties throughout the Puget Sound region and beyond.
In addition to his professional life, Robert loves to travel, play sports and enjoys the great outdoors with his family. He actively volunteers for a number of non-profit organizations including the Washington State China Relations Council, the Seattle Chongqing Sister City Association (VP) and is currently serving as the chapter manager for Phi Lambda Seattle. With a firm belief in giving back, Robert involves himself with organizations that have helped build schools, orphanages and supply clean drinking water in mainland China. He is currently working on a project to bridge the gap for visiting Chinese students pursuing degrees and work futures in the Pacific Northwest.
